Welcome to Mimi's Academy!

Screamin’ Mimi’s Kid’s Place is always looking for ways to better serve the children in our care and the parents that rely on us. One thing we were always hearing was, “When are you going to start a preschool.” Initially, we did not feel we had the room for one, but fate intervened, and the opportunity to move to a larger location right across from the existing Screamin’ Mimi’s location, made opening a preschool logistically possible. After researching other preschools and curriculums, we determined what would be necessary to open a program that was up to our high standards, and Mimi’s Academy was born.

Our Curriculum - Fireflies

Once we did some homework, we determined Firefles was the way to go for us. The program is developed by three child development professionals who have degrees in child related fields s well as years of experience as care-givers and educators of young children. Because children learn by doing, Fireflies offers hands-on materials that offer them opportunities to make meaningful choices. The program will develop concepts in the following areas:

Fireflies is designed to help children stimulate thinking, reasoning, decision-making and problem solving. It will help us to address each child socially, physically, emotionally and cognitively!

Lead Teacher – Christy Rouse

We spent countless hours carefully selecting which applicants to interview. We knew we would only consider someone with the right balance of education and experience to be our Lead Teacher. After interviewing our top picks, we are certain we chose the best applicant in Ms. Christy Rouse. Ms. Rouse grew up in a house-hold with a 5-star home day care and feels educating young children comes as second nature for her. She helped her mother in her home day care for several years before starting her own when her children were small. Ms. Rouse ran her own 5-star-home daycare and preschool for six years. She also obtained her Early Childhood Education Credentials from Johnston Community College. In addition to her certifications, Ms. Rouse has completed many additional training classes on story boarding, learning activities and child development. We are very excited to have her with us at Mimi’s Academy!

Full Day (8:00 AM to 6:00 PM) - $130/per week

Half-day (choice of 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM or 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM) - $55 per week

(ENROLL BY APRIL 30TH FOR EARLY ENROLLMENT DISCOUNT OF $50/WEEK).

Kindercamp

For Ages 3 to 5

Weekly learning activities, crafts and opportunities for socialization and active play.

Pricing:

Full Day (8:30 AM to 12:00 PM) - $50/per week
